Twilight

I am posting this a little after the fact!! Kierra asked me several weeks ago if we could go see it with her friend Brianne and her mom, they had extra tickets for the first day, but the first day turned out to be MIDNIGHT on Thursday the 20th. I have NEVER gone to a midnight showing! It was fun, and the movie was engaging enough (not to mention the LARGE amount of caffeine in my system) to stay awake!
Of course the movie was not as good as the book (they never are) and the acting was second rate in parts, but overall it was worth seeing! I will probably watch it again when it hits DVD's!
I think most of the actors were cast right! Most people didn't like the choice for Edward, but I thought he was good, though at first I kept thinking Cedric Diggery! Perhaps I have watched that Harry Potter movie too many times! By the end I had forgot about that though!
I was dang tired the next day! I guess I am getting too old to not get my 8 hours! At least 6, and that night was more like 4 with an interuption in the middle (Alyse likes her milk at 5:30 am!)
I am now reading the second book, and quite like it so far (only on chapter 2.)

I've been tagged

8 things I am passionate about:

1. Kierra, with all her sass!

2. Dalton, with all his energy!

3. Alyse, with all her needs!

4. Kim, with all he brings!

5. Spending time with those mentioned above! I love our family time, from vacations to just eating dinner together and talking (as much as I hate to cook, my kids would probably be surprised I enjoy that time!)

6. Extended families. They are important, and I am very grateful to have so many that live so close.

7. My Savior, seems kind-of wrong to put him seventh, but I am just listing things in no particular order!

8. Friends, though I don't see or talk to them enough, they are still really important to me!

8 Words or phrases I say often:

1. How'd you get so cute?

2. Get your chores done and we will talk about it (these aren't things I like to say, just things I say OFTEN!!)

3. NO ZOE (Usually cuz she is barking or growling at Alyse)

4. Really? (If it is to Alyse it is because I don't always understand the jabber but she thinks I do when I say that. If it is the older kids, it is when they are telling me stuff, I understand the words, but am sometimes surprised what I hear, after all I am old, kids are different these days, not in a bad way, just different!)

5. I Love you!

6. Your being such a good girl (she is 90% of the time)

7. Good job

8. Thank-you

8 Things i want to do before I die:
1. Learn another language

2. Earn a Master's degree (and at the right I am going, it might be RIGHT before I die!)

3. Travel to many places in the world

4. Watch my kids go to college

5. Watch my kids get married

6. Become a grandma

7. Be Debt free (seems impossible to not have a house payment, but someday....)

8. Do something meaningful for the community

8 places I would love to go or see:

1. Hawaii

2. Italy

3. Paris

4. Virgin Islands

5. Australia

6. Many places here in the states

7. Alaska

8. My family healthy, growing and prospering is the best thing I could ever see.

I tag Kierra.

President Elect

Barack Obama is the President Elect of the United States of America. I know many people are going to have major stress and heartburn over this, but I think it is going to be OK. I think we need to pray for our new president that he will do what is right, and that he doesn't get assasinated, after all, he is much better than Joe Biden!

Halloween is FUN!

HALLOWEEN 2008

Dalton is missing from most of my pictures, because I forgot my camera at the trunk or treating, and the best pictures of him in his costume were taken by Nick's mom, and I still need to get them from her.

Kierra being a BIG BABY!

Alyse was the cutest fifties girl Ever! Gotta love that double chin action she is pulling in this picture!

My girls!

Can't believe her thin, not so much hair, held up to those curls!

When Alyse is told to say cheese, she closes her eyes, I think she doesn't like the flash!

Grandma and Monster Killian!

Cuties!
Kierra & Killian

Madi as Bell!

Alyse had as much fun playing with Madi's kitchen as anything else!

This picture was taken to give to Grandma and Grandpa Ray, this is ALL of their great grandkids! Caitlyn is holding Killian, Kierra is holding Taylor (only 10 days old) Madi in front, Dalton holding Alyse, Austin (batman) and Braxton.

This is the GROSSEST but FUNNY Halloween gag! It was quite tasty once you got past the site of it! I have to say, my jaw MUST have been gapping when I saw it sitting on Joscelyn's counter, of all the people I know I can't imagine her having a cat, let alone have something that gross ANYWHERE in her house!

Dalton and Nick thought it was GREAT fun!

Baby Westover

My youngest sister Sheleen and her husband Brant became first time parents on 10/27/08. Their baby boy came about 3 1/2 weeks ahead of schedule, and is SO TINY! 5 lbs 13 oz 17 inches long. He is a cutey! I thought he was all his dad, but I did catch one picture Saturday that was at the end of a smile, and I believe I can see Sheleen in there!!
Though they left the hospital without a permanent name, I think it is going to be Damon Brant Westover.

Still in the hospital!

One day old.

Isn't he cute! Those are preemie outfits, he is a little squirt!

There it is! I see Sheleen in this picture! Tell me if you agree!

Carving Pumpkins

On 10/25/08 we went to Joscelyns to carve pumpkins and decorate sugar cookies for Halloween.

This is the Trampoline in their backyard, which is where Braxton and Dalton spent a great deal of their time! Dalton did manage to carve his pumpkin (with some help from Grandma Gloria), a little at a time. Braxton's pumpkin got much more attention from his mom, but it looked great in the end!

Madi & Kierra eating the sugar cookies.

Alyse REALLY enjoyed her cookie!

Kierra and Jos working on the pumpkins.

Grandma helping Dalton with his, he picked a very hard pattern, and Grandma was great to help him with those tough details.

The finished products.

Alyse was a little leary to sit next to them by herself!

But she was OK with Madi by her.

This was made by Jos to be Jack from Nightmare before Christmas.
